International Day has become a February tradition at ICF! Each year, we have a service to emphasize and highlight God’s work in bringing this diverse body together. As our church has grown, so has the number of countries represented in our membership! We now have 10 countries represented; Honduras, the USA, Philippines, Russia, Ukraine, Mexico, Israel, El Salvador, South Korea, and Haiti. The interesting thing about the tremendous diversity we have at ICF is the unity we are experiencing. You might think that a very diverse body like this would have a difficult time fostering unity. But actually, as we grow in number and diversity, we are also growing in unity. This should not be a surprise at all because the Bible is clear that regardless of background or gifting, we are all one body in Christ(Romans 12:5).The church was not meant for uniformity, but rather for unity in Christ and His mission. Believers bound together in Christ will be unified toward the mission. God has been doing this work at ICF over the past year. I would not say that it is easy, but I believe it is the only way for a local church to truly reach its potential as the Body of Christ. May we all embrace the diversity of Christ’s church as we follow Him!
